Hubert Bernard "Sonny" Brasseur, late of Weyburn, SK,  passed away July 5, 2017 at the age of 95 years.

Sonny was predeceased by his parents: Julian and Mary Brasseur; brothers: Lester, Edward, Cletus; sisters: Stella, Margeurite.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Peggy Brasseur, Weyburn; his daughter Jane (Jerry) Anderson, Saskatoon; 2 granddaughters: Treena (Brad) Peppler, Calgary, and their family Alyssa and Kyla; Syreeta Anderson, Saskatoon and her daughters: Mckenna, Janaya, Addyson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Sonny was born in Amulet, SK on August 23, 1921 to Julian and Mary Brasseur. When he was 18 years, he enlisted in the war and served until the war ended.  He served mostly in Italy, France and Holland with the 11th Field Regiment R.C.A 29th Battalion.  After the war he trained as a butcher at Wilson's Meats and then managed the Co-op meat department for 15 years. After working at the Co-op, Sonny was employed at the Saskatchewan Liquor Board until his retirement.

He loved gardening right up to his passing.  He especially loved his lilies and roses (for mom), and tomatoes which he mostly gave away.  Sonny was a big Toronto Blue Jay fan and loved discussing the team with his coffee buddies.  He also loved nothing better than pulling a good prank on friends.  He was a kind and generous man that loved his family and was devoted to his wife.

A Private Graveside Service was held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:30am from Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK with Marj McLeod officiating.  Lunch followed at RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, SK.
