I often think of her fabulous pies that she used to make, the coconut cream and lemon pies. I would savour every bite. Think of her often when I try to bake them like she did but never did master it. Wonder lady, very kind.

I am long gone from my home town but when I read this obit I realized that this familiar name was one that my mother must have worked with at Ken Springer's Knotty Pine Cafe in the 1950s. My mother Marion Morgan had her first job there for a few years and later spent many at Wes White's Town'n'Country on Third. Again Aurilla must have known my father Phillip who worked at 'The Mental Hospital" for several decades.

So while the name is familiar I am sorry I cannot give personal condolences but simply muse that time passes and our past comes and goes in waves of memory and loss.

lemon pie indeed…it was post war and time to have some fun. A movie and some ice cream.. And visiting family and thinking the future was promising.

Aurilla was one of a kind! When I was a university student , I worked many summers with Aurilla and the ladies at Souris Valley. Aurilla was always kind, patient, gracious and fun to be with. Later in my life in Weyburn, Aurilla was a lady who wove into the fabric of a gentle and caring community! May this beautiful lady rest in peace!
