Aurilla Clarissa Skjonsby, late of Weyburn, SK passed away March 26, 2016, at the age of 100 years.

Aurilla was predeceased by her husband Stanley Skjonsby; her parents: Floyd and Mabel Deal; brother Floyd Jr. Deal; son-in-law Marvin Larsen; daughter-in-law Marion Skjonsby; grandson-in-law Laurie Campbell.

Aurilla is survived by her sons: Merlin (Ann) Skjonsby, Wilfred (Mariann) Skjonsby, Darrell (Vickie) Skjonsby, daughters: Mabel Larsen, Darlene (Dalton) Lafoy; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Deal and Pat Lewis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Aurilla was born April 1, 1915 at Harvey, North Dakota.  She and her parents, Floyd and Mabel Deal lived on a farm at Ratcliffe until she was 6 years old.  They then moved to California for 4 years.  They returned to Ratcliffe in 1925.  Her brother, Floyd Jr. was 14 years younger and was very special to her.  As a young girl, Aurilla loved horseback riding.  Her last horseback ride was when she was 75 years old.  Aurilla married Stanley Skjonsby on October 31, 1934.  They lived with their 5 children in a small two room house.  In 1953 the family moved to Weyburn.  Aurilla worked for Ken Springer in his cafe, baking pies.  She enjoyed baking at home too, for family and friends.  Then Aurilla worked at the Souris Valley Extended Care Centre from February 1, 1962 until her retirement on April 30, 1980.  Aurilla loved gardening, even well into her 90's.  She lived in her own home until she was 98 years old.  Her grandchildren were very special to her and knew they were deeply loved.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her!

Visitation was held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 7:00pm from RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, SK.  A Funeral Service for Aurilla was held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 2:00pm from the Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, SK with Reverend Martin Olson officiating.  Active Pallbearers were: Dale Larsen, Darren Skjonsby, Ken Skjonsby, Jerry Lafoy, Brian Skjonsby, Kim Skjonsby and Owen Skjonsby.  Honorary Pallbearers were all in attendance. Interment was held at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, SK with lunch following at the Zion Lutheran Church.
