Wayne Laverne Hunstad

After a battle with cancer, Wayne Laverne Hunstad passed away at Regina Pasqua Hospital on April 30, 2022 at the age of 79 years. 

Wayne was predeceased by his father Orris Hunstad and his mother Bertha Baldock (Ernie Baldock); sister Linda Lahure; brothers-in-law, Darwin Wallin and Bob Binetruy.

Wayne is survived by his brother Gordon (Rita) Hunstad; sisters; Shirley Wallin, Delores (Ron) Toso, Sharon Binetruy; brother-in-law Terry Lahure; special nephew and niece, Troy and Leanna, as well as many more nieces and nephews.

At Wayne’s request, there will be no memorial service. A Family Interment will be held at a later date at Laurier Cemetery, Radville, SK.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff on the 3B Ward at the Pasqua Hospital and the Palliative Care Ward for the excellent care Wayne was given throughout his stay. 

Wayne attended school at Apollo School (a one room country school), Lake Alma and at Radville.  He took an accounting course in Regina and worked there for a few years.  He worked in British Columbia and Alberta as well before moving back to Saskatchewan and settling in Weyburn. When Mom’s second husband, Ernie Baldock died, Wayne moved in with her until she passed away then he bought a house.  Wayne did odd jobs for many senior in Weyburn and drank lots of coffee with them as well. In 2020, Wayne moved to Radville to the Golden Heritage and seemed to settle in and enjoy the stay there.

Thank you to Troy and Leanna from Wayne’s siblings for all the care and help they gave him as he had some struggle in the last couple years.  It was greatly appreciated.
