Vernon Richard Axten

Vernon Richard Axten, late of Radville, SK, passed away July 1, 2018, at the age of 82 years.

Vernon was predeceased by his parents: Ivor and Lena  Axten; his father and mother in law: Walter and Iris Miller; sister-in-law: Dorothy Axten.

Vernon is survived by his wife of 60 years: Louise; sons: Blaine (Joyce) Axten, Brian (Louise) Axten; daughters: Linda (Jack) Floer, Karen (Blake) LaBatte; grandchildren: Mark (Margie) Axten, Kendra (Joey) Bootsman, Matthew (Jenna) Axten, Michelle (Travis) Leonard, Rachelle Axten (puppy-Cola), Nolan Axten, Michael (Jana) Floer, Tanya Floer, Melissa (Trevor) Wasilow, Jessica (Andrew) Woitas, and Ryan LaBatte (Paige); great-grandchildren: Paiten, Cooper, Teagan, Swayzie, Ensley, Kai, Isabelle, Zoey, Nora, Daxon, Tave, Kassi, Presley, Sophia and Bowan; brothers: Bill Axten and Bob (Sheila) Axten; brother-in-law, Gayl (Carol) Miller; sister-in-law, Isabel (Bill) Tjaden as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance for Vernon was held Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. from Minton Community Hall, Minton, SK with Rev. Jason Richards officiating. Urn bearers were Matthew and Melissa.  Honorary Pallbearers were all Vernon's grandchildren.  A private family interment was held at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Minton SK with luncheon following at Minton Community Hall, Minton, SK.

In lieu of flowers charitable donations in memory of Vernon may be made to the Radville Marion Health Center, Box 310, Radville, SK  S0C 2G0 or Canadian Diabetes Association, 917 A. Albert St. Regina, SK  S4R 2P6 or Chapel Grove Cemetery, Box 52, Minton, SK  S0C IT0.
