Shirley Elaine Schmidt, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on May 28, 2026 at the age of 90 years.  

She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Margaret Hoium; daughter, Cathy Zyla; sisters, Myrna (Hank) Almquist, Burnelle (Ron) Lutz and Diane (Don) Mass; brothers-in-law, Roy Schmidt, Ronald (Rose) Schmidt; and sister-in-law, Doreen (Ed) Preston.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lloyd Schmidt; her son Alan Zyla (Shelley); granddaughter, Clare Zyla and her daughter, Payton Zyla; grandson, Devan Zyla (Cristie) and their children, Sloane and Scarlett; step-children: Robyn Baxter and her children; Zack (Jodi), Quinn ( Maria), Hayley (Brian) and their children James and Evie; Dennis (Wendy) Schmidt; sisters-in-law, Ruby Schmidt and Shirley (Joe) Honig; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

A Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. from the Calvary Baptist Church, Weyburn, SK with Rev. Doug Loden officiating.  Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn, SK.  Luncheon and Fellowship will be held back at the Calvary Baptist Church, Weyburn, SK.
