Sharon is survived by her husband: Wayne Throssell and their sons, Caleb and Graham of Lake Alma, SK; parents, John and Mary Hamm of Beaubier, SK; sister, Diane (Bill) Deal and their daughters, Alyssa and Felicia of Beaubier, SK; parents in law, Harlan and Deborah Throssell; brother in law, Michael (Jennifer) Throssell and their children, Elijah, Izaak, Hava and Karina; sister in law, Tracy (Scott) Hooper and their daughter, Kayla; aunts and uncles, Abe and Olga Funk, John and Mary Bueckert, Mary Hamm and Martin Hamm as well as numerous cousins, relatives and friends.

Sharon Marie Throssell was born on May 11, 1978 to John and Mary Hamm in Swift Current, SK. She was the younger sister to Diane Deal, growing up south of Swift Current in the little village of Schoenfeld.  She attended Wymark School for her elementary years, grades K-9 and went on to attend the Swift Current Comp High School for grades 10-12.  After graduating from high school, she went on to take some office/secretary classes at the Academy of Learning also in Swift Current.  While growing up, she was also in the Wymark Drylanders 4-H Club for approximately nine years, taking projects like cooking, sewing, and sheep.  Sharon also worked at various jobs including a flower shop, and in the billing department at Ridsdale Transport in Swift Current, together with Diane. After that she worked as a night stocker at the Swift Current Walmart and also helped set up the current Walmart in Estevan, allowing her to spend more time with her special someone, Wayne Throssell.

Sharon attended the Christian Fellowship Church of Rhineland, SK, and loved helping teach Sunday School.  Then on May 28, 2000, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

In July, 2006, she met the love of her life, Wayne Throssell.  And after a short courtship, they were married on July 28, 2007 and moved to Beaubier, SK.  While living in Beaubier, they were blessed with two special sons, Caleb John on June 22, 2010 and Graham Nathaniel on February 14, 2014.  After living in Beaubier for twelve years, they were able to move onto the family farm south of Lake Alma in the beginning of August, 2019.

Sharon always worked hard, helping Wayne whenever she could.  She also had a great love for cooking and baking for her family.  She always enjoyed looking at and trying new recipes, and making recipes her own to make it special.  When the boys’ birthdays came up, she would make a cake of their choice.  Some themes, to name a few, were construction, cows, farm and crocodile cakes and the icing was always the right color.  As long as she was able, she kept busy baking buns and cookies for Wayne.  Once Caleb was older, he took on the love of baking with his Mom.  She taught him to make homemade bread, cookies, and especially pies. Graham loved to help her too, wherever he could.  Spending time with all of her nieces and nephews was very precious to her, as well as her whole family.

Sharon and Wayne attended the Faith Free Lutheran Church in Lake Alma since the time they were married, raising their boys to grow up knowing Jesus.  Living for Jesus has always been an important part of her life.  For four years she taught Sunday School, with one on her nieces as her student.  This was a very special time for both, studying God’s words together.

Then in March, 2023, came the sad news that she had breast cancer.  She was extremely brave and fought this battle for one and half years, taking both chemo and radiation treatments.  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4: 13) was the promise she clung to, to her very last breath.  Never complaining, she was a blessing and a light to everyone she met in her journey.  “She is always so happy and positive,” the nurses and doctors would say.  She was never worried about the outcomes. She knew life is short and having Jesus as her Saviour is so very important, and that all who call upon His name will be saved.  These promises carried her through to her end here.  Her final wishes for everyone who knew her were these:  know Jesus now, and don’t wait until tomorrow, for life is too short.
