Final goodbyes were said on the passing of Robert “Bob” Gillies on May 9, 2025. He celebrated his 86th birthday with his Weyburn dancing friends. He will be missed.
Bob was born in 1939 on the farm at Tyvan, SK to Clarence and Iva (Stephenson) Gillies. He married Enid (Purdon), celebrating 62 years. He loved farming, cattle, fishing, dancing and life in general. Following heart surgery in 2001 he moved to the “metropolis” of Tyvan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Enid; his children, Kevin (Dawn), Pamela and Terence; grandchildren Ryan, Cameron (Shaylie), and Kaitlyn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service was held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Tyvan Cemetery, Tyvan, SK with Judy Beck officiating. Luncheon followed after the service at the Tyvan Hall, Tyvan, SK.
