Raymond Paslawski Obituary

Raymond Paul Paslawski, late of Osage, SK, passed away May 24, 2020 at the age of 83 years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty; his children: Doug Paslawski, Kevin Paslawski [Mikaelae (Corbyn) Charlton, Chet Paslawski (Leticia Carvalho)], Ken Paslawski, Susan (Ron) Richard [Sasha Richard, Reid Richard (Rynae Weinmeister)], Tammy (Mark) Petras [Addyson] and Cindy Paslawski (John Boychuk).

Ray was born on the family farm on August 25, 1936.  He was the youngest child born to John & Annie Paslawski. Ray married the love of his life, Betty, on October 25, 1958.  They lived on the family farm and had 6 children.

Ray practiced auctioneering while working in the field.  Many fence posts were sold to a rabbit!  In 1966, Ray earned his auctioneering license.  He started auctioneering at the Weyburn Livestock Exchange in September 1966. His first farm auction was for Charlie Langelier at Montmartre, SK in 1966.

Ray was enthusiastic in everything he did.  He enjoyed playing sports, hunting, fishing, playing cards, bugging  people, playing bingo, gambling at the casino, visiting with family and friends and auctioning.

Ray loved to keep busy. Over the years he held many positions: Owned and operated Paslawski Auctions for 54 years, a councilor for the Wellington RM for 7 years, chairman for the PFRA pasture, president of Price Rite Fuels, owner and founder of Candiac Auction Mart, owner of Weyburn Livestock Exchange for 37 years, owner and partner of Cowtown Weyburn, and was the Saskatchewan Trap Shooting representative and was on the 1st and 2nd All  Star Team, president and lifetime member of West Osage Gun Club and was the last remaining chartered member,  volunteer, auctioneer and avid supporter of Ducks Unlimited.

Ray, Dad, Grandpa, will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Due to on-going Covid Pandemic concerns, there will be no public service held at this time.

For family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of Ray may be made to the St. Aloysius Church, c/o Sacred Heart Parish, Box 247, Montmartre, SK, S0G 3M0.
