Nick Vilcu

Nick Vilcu late of Weyburn, SK, passed away November 7, 2023 at the age of 94 years. Nick was predeceased by his parents Dumitru and Ecaterina Vilcu; his wife Mary; all of his siblings: Maria in infancy, Mary (George) Topal, Ann (Paul) Frank, Eva (John) Ksenych, Helen (Walton) Eddy, Dan (Mary) Vilcu, George (Elsie) Vilcu, John Vilcu, Jack (Elsie) Vilcu and grandson Brad Kozun.

Nick is survived by his 3 children: Gloria Kozun, Cold Lake, AB and family: daughter-in-law Jaelene and her children [Emily, Shayla, Nolan]; Erin, Liane (Curtis) son [Zachary]; Joe (Janice) Vilcu, Weyburn, and family: Jeramy (Chantel) sons [Jaxon and Brayden], Jamie (Jason) Adderley son [Greyson]; Mark (Lucy) Vilcu, Midale and family: Adam (Erin) and family [Reagen, Salem], Angela (Kyle), Mary; two sisters-in-law: Mary Vilcu and Theresa Novenski as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

All attendance were considered Honorary Pallbearers. The Pallbearers were: Jeramy Vilcu, Jason Adderley, Kyle McLaughlin, Isaac Vilcu, Owen Vilcu and Adam Vilcu. The Banner Bearers were Nicholas Ducharme, Grant Cooper and Jeanette Gaudry.

Prayers were said on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. from St. Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, 1770 St. John Street, Regina, SK with Fr. Vint, presiding. Immediately following the prayer service a luncheon took place in the church basement.

Funeral Service for Nick was held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK with Fr. Vint, presiding. Luncheon was held immediately following the funeral service at McKenna Upper Hall, 317-3rd St. NE, Weyburn, SK.  Interment followed at the Griffin Cemetery, Griffin, SK
