Lena Bernier

Lena Bernier, late of Radville passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday December 25, 2018 at the age of 84 years old.

Lena is predeceased by her father Alphonse and mother Victoria Bernier; brothers Victor & Pete Bernier and sisters Minn Verot and Flo Cherpin.

Lena will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Laura, son-in-law Paul Lawrence, her grand children Kaylee and Connor Lawrence and her partner of 34 years, Arnold Paul; her sister Vic Endicott and brother George Bernier; nieces Mary Lou Van De Sype, Laurette Cherpin and Nicky Cyrenne; Her brothers and sisters-in-law Angie Bernier, Alphonse Verot, Tom (Shirley) Paul, John (Cheryl) Paul, Dorothy Paul & Arvella Paul; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Family Parish Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Thuy Nguyen celebrant. Interment was held at Laurier Cemetery, Radville, SK with luncheon following at Holy Family Parish Roman Catholic Church, Radville, SK.

Lena grew up on a farm south of Radville and split her education between the school there and the convent in Montmarte. In 1953 she moved from Radville to Lake Alma where she spent most of her life until she moved to the Radville Marian Health Centre in 2012. She was very involved in the community throughout her life and was always volunteering when she could. She loved gardening and baking and spent time quilting, crocheting, knitting and making rugs. Lena enjoyed the company of her friends and family and always had a pot of coffee on and dainties ready when they would stop by for a visit.  Lena loved her family, especially her grand children, they were her pride and joy. Her favourite sound was hearing them laugh.

The family would like to say thanks to the staff at the Radville Marian Health Centre for taking such good care of Lena and providing support to us at the time of her passing.

Lena was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed dearly.
