Katherine Grace Dobson, late of Regina, SK passed away on August 24, 2025 at the age of 77 years.
Katherine was born on January 15, 1948 to Harold and Margaret Elder. She grew up in Leask, SK where she met the love of her life, Ken. The two were married on March 20, 1965, and this year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Together, they welcomed two sons into their family: Andrew in 1965 and Warren in 1968.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Margaret Elder; sister, Margo (Charles) Reynolds; sisters and brothers-in-law: Ruth (Clair) Coleman, Jean (Nick) Skrupski, Hazel (Ronald) Hertzberg, Clayton Dobson and Owen Dicus.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dobson; son, Andrew (Arlene) Dobson, son, Warren Dobson; her granddaughter, Olivia Dobson. Katherine is also survived by her sister, Patricia “Lynn” Elder; brother, John Elder; sister-in-law, Muriel Dicus; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Kathy devoted her early years to raising her boys before beginning her career as an administrative assistant at the school in Hudson Bay, SK. After moving to Melfort, she worked at the R.M. of Pleasantdale and later with Saskatchewan Liquor Board, where she completed her career. Following retirement, Kathy and Ken enjoyed travelling and spending winters in Mesa and summers between Regina and Kenosee Lake.
Kathy will be remembered for her talent in the kitchen, her love of reading – especially cookbooks – her passion for gardening, and her deep affection for dogs. Above all, she will be cherished as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be profoundly missed for all these qualities and so much more.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hilltop Manor in Weyburn, as well as the medical team at Weyburn General Hospital, for their compassionate care.
A Celebration of Katherine’s life and an interment will be held at a later date.
