Jeffery Wayne Greening

Jeffery Wayne Greening, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on July 19, 2025 at the age of 71 years. 

 He was born in Gary, IN, May 14, 1954 and spent his childhood in Hammond, IN before moving to Canada in 1973.  Jeff and his wife Diane raised their four children in Weyburn, SK where he worked as a Psychiatric Nurse at Souris Valley/Tatagwa for 33 years.

Jeff had a heart of a servant.  He graciously lived his life loving and serving his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, his wife Diane of 48 years, his family, co-workers, friends and anyone he came into contact with.  His love for music permeated throughout his life, from singing worship songs at church, going to Christian rock concerts/festivals, and working on his online Christian Music Radio Station, Brand New Start. He was also a big sports fan cheering on his Chicago sports teams and of course the Rough Riders.  His glass was not only half full, it was overflowing, always kind, always positive, and always caring.

He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Jewel (nee: Lynam) Greening; sister, Sharon Marie Ables (nee: Greening); and nephew, Carry James “Butch” Ables.

Jeffery is survived by his wife, Diane Greening (nee: Lanti) of Weyburn, SK; daughter, Cora-Lynn Sexton of Weyburn, SK and her children [Mattea, Kyler and their father, Logan Sexton]; son, Jeremy (Stacy) Greening of Whitecourt, AB and their children [Katelyn, Marco]; daughter, Ora-Lee (Justin) Somerville of Calgary, AB and their children [Easton, Nicholas]; daughter, Jaelyn (Darryl) Warkentin of Red Deer, AB and their children [Emma, Natalie, and Sophia]; brother, Barry (Vicki) Greening; brother-in-law, John Ables. Jeffery is also survived by his in-laws: Les (Idella) Harder; Barb (Harold) Sauder; Rose (Ken predeceased) Harder; Rod (Sherry) Harder, Keith (Pat) Harder); as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and Lanti family members.

Visitation took place on Thursday, July 24, 2025 starting at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, SK.

A Funeral Service was held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. from the Silver Heights Bible Church, Weyburn, SK with Pastor Kevin Armstrong and Pastor Ken Easterbrook officiating.  Interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK.  Lunch followed back at the Silver Heights Bible Church, Weyburn, SK.
