James Bert Earl Morey

James Bert Earl Morey, late of Weyburn, SK, passed away December 25, 2019 at the age of 73 years.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Laura Morey; his son Peter; three brothers and one sister.

Jim is survived by his wife, Pearl; his son, George Hamel (Sherry) and his children: Kandie (Gerry) and her children [Huxley, Halle]; Jacob Morey; daughter, Michelle (Barry) Mercer and family: Amber and her children [Miriah, Shelby and Jade], Scott Mercer; sisters: Carol (Murray) Nelson, Anna Lindgren and Florence Logan.

As requested, cremation has taken place.  No funeral service will be held.

Our Father, My Dad... He was a devoted husband, father and friend.  He would stop a stranger to tell them about his family.  Every spring, he would pick the first pussy willows, even if he had to climb a mountain to get them for mom. You could always find my Dad bringing Mom fresh wild flowers.

He had a bear hug that could make you feel his love for you.  He would teach you all about cutting down trees and his prize one man saw mill. Dad made jewelry boxes, a cedar chest and a beautiful bed frame.  With his own hands and help from his sons, they built the family house in Winlaw, BC.  He also built two cabins and a beautiful gazebo.  If you were lucky enough to sit with him, he could tell you all about each log, sipping mom’s homemade wine eating fresh baking.  If you walked a mile in his shoes you would be very tired at the end.  Then he would do it 10 more times.

The loss of his precious son Peter, was unbearable pain for so many years.  The thought of him hugging his son in heaven on Christmas day is making my tears worth every one. Always loved and forever missed, my Dad.
