Ione Joyce Ernst

Ione Joyce Ernst, late of Moose Jaw, SK (formerly of Weyburn, SK) passed away on May 18, 2025 at the age of 83 years. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Reginald and Hazel Eddy; step-father, Ivan Churchill; her husband, Herb Ernst; her grandson, Dane Ernst; sister, Myrna Oxelgren; nieces, Doreen Shorthouse and Shannon Mack; nephew, Caleb Bush; sister-in-law, Margaret Fuhro; brother-in-laws, Al Lacell, William Shorthouse, Albert Ernst, Ed Fuhro and Dennis Hone.

Ione is survived by her husband, Earl Berard of Moose Jaw, SK; son, Brad (Tania) of Goodwater, SK; son, Darren (Jen) of Turtle Lake, SK; daughter, Brenda (Richard) of Rouleau, SK; Earl’s children: Cindy (Chuck) Annable, Leanne (Bert) Kosolofski, Trevor (Yvonne) Berard; grandchildren: Karla, Monica, Brennan, Vernon, Tre, Andy, Lyndee, Brandon, Brooklyn; great grandchildren: Charlie, Frankie, Mya, Caleb, Linden, Wyatt, Hazel, Beau, Abigail, Kobe, Lacey, Preston, Malyk. Ione is also survived by her sisters, Bev (Warren) Pederson and Delynne Huhn; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Lacell, Marion Shorthouse and Patsy Ernst; brother-in-law, Jerome (Bernice) Ernst; Earl’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their families; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Prayers were held on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with celebrant Fr. Amobi.  Luncheon was at the McKenna Hall, 317 ~ 3rd Street, Weyburn, SK.  Following the lunch, interment took place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tribune, SK.
