Obituary
Harry Walter Forsberg, late of Weyburn, SK, passed away peacefully on Monday July 17, 2023 at the age of 94 years. He was predeceased by his parents: Gustav and Annie Forsberg; his wife Olga; grandson Jason; brother Carl; brothers-in-law: Ervin Mutter, Cyril van waeyenberge, Peter and Elsie Ziolkowski.
Harry is survived by his son, Gilbert (Phyllis) Schroeder; grandson, Corey (Carmella) Backlun; four great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sisters: Stella Mutter, Flora van waeyenberge; brother-in-law, Alex (Louise) Ziolkowski; special friends, June and May as well as several nieces and nephews.
Harry was born on February 26, 1929 in the Minton District. In 1945, the family moved from Minton to Halbrite where Harry farmed with his dad and brother. He loved working with his cattle and having his dogs along his side. Harry was also a gifted wood worker and worked with leather as well. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and curling. He loved to watch the curling matches on TV and usually mentioned these events to family so they could watch and later discuss with him. Harry and Olga loved to travel and went on several trips together over the years and they loved to have company over for visits. He was a member of the Wildlife Federation where he had made many friends. Harry was a loving, kind, patient and generous man and his gentle presence will always be held in our memories.
A Funeral Service was held on Monday July 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Cheryl Toth officiating. Interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK. Luncheon followed at Zion Lutheran Church. Pallbearers were: Dale Ziolkowski, Kevin Ziolkowski, Brad Eggum, Jordan Backlun, Coty Backlun and Kelly Kozig.
