Harold Barth Obituary

Harold Harvey Barth, late of Pangman, SK passed away June 3, 2023 at the age of 93 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Katherina Barth; his wife Doreen Barth; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Olivia Stewart; sisters: Rose Thompson, Irene Gordon (Roy), Loretta Merritt (Tom); brothers: George Barth, Rudy Barth (Maureen), Lawrence in infancy, Walter Barth, Harvey Barth, Steve Barth; brothers-in-law, Lyle Johnson, Dale Boren; and his sister-in-law Marie Stewart. 

Harold is survived by his children: Arnie (Carol) Barth;Terry (Shelley) Barth and family: Ashley (Beau) Mitchell and [Noah, Duncan, Everett], Kristian Barth (Taylor); Arlene (Doug) Lewgood and family: Trevor (Lisa) Lewgood and [Sadey, Jarron (Daisy)], Christy (Willard) Johnson and [Dalton]; and Darcy Barth; sister Ady Johnson; sisters-in-law Ruth Boren, Dorothy (Wayne) Marion, Vera Barth; brother-in-law Gordon Stewart; countless nieces, nephews, friends, relatives and his community.

Harold was born on August 8, 1929 six miles south east of Pangman, SK on NW 24-7-20-W2nd. He was the middle children of 11 siblings.  In 1936, the Barth family moved just north of Pangman where they ran a dairy and the kids delivered milk.

On June 12, 1953, Harold married Doreen Stewart from Amulet, SK. Harold bought grain for 40 years in Pangman at a starting wage of $50.00 a month until he retired in 1992. During their 65½  years of marriage, Doreen and Harold raised 4 children, and were blessed with 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Harold participated in all sports but excelled in baseball and curling.  He was always willing to talk about the old baseball days especially about his brother Rudy who should have played in the big leagues. Harold taught hard work, honesty and respect and passed that on to his children and grandchildren.

A Funeral Service for Harold was held on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the South Sask Victory Church, Pangman, SK with Judy Beck officiating.  Honorary Pallbearers were all in attendance.  Pallbearers were: Trevor Lewgood, Jarron Lewgood, Willard Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Kristian Barth and Shelley Donison. Interment was held at Pangman Cemetery, Pangman, SK. Luncheon followed at South Sask Victory Church, Pangman, SK.
