Grant Louis Marinos, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on February 16, 2026 at the age of 95 years.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Margaret; four sons and their families, Kevin (daughters Jessica, Ali, Samantha, and sons Nick Marinos and Clark Erb (wife Kari), grandchildren Ryder Marinos and Rylan and Raya Erb); Len (wife Lori, daughter Alyssa (husband Shane), son Mark and grandchildren Noah and Max); Dean; Brent (wife Terri, and daughter Carly) and nephew Darryl Marinos. Grant also leaves to mourn his relatives in Diminio and Athens, Greece.
Grant was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This is where he met and married his wife Margaret (“nee”) Collins. In 1957, they moved to Weyburn, Saskatchewan, to manage the Imperial Optical business, which later became Marinos Optical until his retirement in 2000, after providing 43 years of optical services to Weyburn and area.
Grant was very community minded and immediately got involved with the Weyburn community service organizations that included past president of The Chamber of Commerce; past president of The Weyburn Young Fellows Club; a member of the Weyburn Toastmasters club; past vice-chair of The Weyburn Hospital Board and a long-time member of the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation. Grant was also involved with the Weyburn Rotary Club and a Rotarian right up to his passing. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Weyburn Golf Club, participating in many charity tournaments over the years.
Grant was a devoted family man, whether it was taking vacations with his family or spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A Service will be held in the Summer of 2026.
