Gerald Joseph Kaip, late of Weyburn, SK passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years, at his home with his loving wife Katherine by his side.
Gerald was predeceased his parents Frank and Katherine Kaip; his in-laws Bill Tatarliov Sr. and Julie Tatarliov (Corbin).
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Katherine, his sons, Chris (Shelley), Russell (Sandra); his daughters, Virginia, Janet (Mark); his grandchildren: Ryan, Steven, Eric, Michael, Amanda, Adam, Simon Jr., Chelsey, Stephanie, Michelle, Jeremiah and Sarah; brothers-in-law Bill (Bev) Tatarliov and Ken Tatarliov; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gerald was born August 22, 1937 in Assiniboia, SK and was raised in the Minton and Plentywood, Montana area. He did custom combining in U.S.A. before settling down to farming in the Minton/Ceylon area, until retiring in 2001at Weyburn, SK.
On November 4, 1958 he married Katherine Tatarliov at St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, Minton, SK. Gerald was very active in curling, hockey and softball.
In his later years, Gerald enjoyed the Weyburn Red Wing games, curling, restoring his tractors, was a car enthusiast and had many friends he met at the local coffee shop.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK with celebrant Fr. Francis Plaparampil. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK. Active and Honorary Pallbearers were Gerald’s grandchildren.
