Gerald Borrowman, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on January 14, 2026 at the age of 73 years.
Gerald passed away, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and service to his community. He was the beloved son of Elmer Borrowman and Mabel Iva Maude (Longman) Borrowman.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Mabel Borrowman, and by his brothers, Russell Borrowman and Lloyd Borrowman.
For 27 years, Gerald worked at the Weyburn Prairie Sky Co-op, where he became well known and deeply respected within the community. He was always ready to offer a warm smile and ask how your day was going, making those around him feel seen and valued. As a union representative, Gerald was a strong advocate for his fellow employees, fighting for their rights and playing a key role in negotiating an agreement in 2020.
Gerald’s commitment to public service extended beyond the workplace. In 2011, he ran as the Liberal Candidate for Souris–Moose Mountain, striving to restore trust in democracy while advocating for secure futures for children, meaningful employment opportunities, and the protection of Canadians’ pensions.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with the community for those who wish to pay their respects to our dear friend.
A true conversationalist, Gerald loved to read and could often be found engaging others in thoughtful discussions about politics, space, and travel. His curiosity, intelligence, and genuine interest in people made every conversation memorable.
Gerald will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
