Gayle McAuley

Gayle McAuley, late of Weyburn, SK passed away September 1, 2023 at the age of 84 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Dora Lynch; her husband, Bryce McAuley; brother Wayne Lynch and sister Lois MacDonald.

Gayle is survived by her children: Lorrie McAuley (Gary Boutin), Wendy McAuley (Richard Jorgensen), Roxy (Monty) Hortness and Shayne (Richelle) McAuley; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Shauna McAuley-Bax (Jon Keighley) and family [Reysiann, McAuley], Ambre Maurer (Dustin Leonard), Micahlene (Kyle) Bowes and family [Roxy, Brycen], Shenay Maurer (John Pokletar) and family [Bennett, Bohden], Tori Maurer, Vaughn (Dezi) Hortness and family [Laken, Laurel], Brody (Sarah) Hortness and family [Grey, Rooke, Norah], Megan McAuley, Jenna McAuley; sister, Doreen Scheetz; brothers: Wray (Mary) Lynch, Rick (Cheryl) Lynch as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mom was born in Manor district in 1939. She grew up on the family farm with 5 siblings. When mom and dad married, they moved around following the oil before moving to Manor and settled to a farming life. Mom was very artistic. She decorated cakes and loved to paint and sing. When she moved to Weyburn, she spent many happy years working in retail and continued with her love of painting. Coffee time with friends and spending time with family, which included many holidays, provided mom the most joy. Mom moved into Hill Top Manor when her health started to fail about 3 years ago. Her favorite times were when she was surrounded by family and friends.

 We would like to send out a special thank you to the staff of Hill Top Manor that gave mom love and care in the last years of her life.

A Graveside Service and Interment was held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. from Manor Community Cemetery, Manor, SK with Michelle Moore officiating.
