It is with deep sadness that the family of Floyd Hemphill announce his passing on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 93 years.
Floyd was born on March 12, 1931 to Robert (Bob) and Florence (Polly) Hemphill. He attended Sequin, Pilot Mound Hill Hurst and Rock Lake School until grade 8 when he finished school to join his parents on the family farm. The Hemphill’s ran a mixed farm by Rock Lake on the Goodbrand Farm. Bob and Polly moved to Stoughton in 1968 and Floyd took over the farm where he continued mixed farming until he sold the cows in 1981. He continued grain farming until his retirement in 2012.
Floyd spent his entire life on the farm and enjoyed every aspect of farming. In his younger days he spent his spare time curling and attending many country music shows in Regina. In his later years he became a self proclaimed armchair sportsman.
Floyd will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his family, Ralph and Deene Hemphill, Chrissy and Matt Bodnarchuk (Sage & Reza), Dale & Jenn Hemphill (Chayse), Dave & Lea Hemphill (Sydney, Nash & Shea) and all his extended family.
Floyd was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Polly Hemphill.
A Family Graveside Service & Interment was held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stoughton Cemetery, Stoughton, SK. A Visitation and Remembrance followed at the farm of Dave & Lea Hemphill NE 03-009-09-W2M (9080 Range Road 2092 South of the Heward Cemetery)
Floyd’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of Fillmore Health Centre for their kindness and care shown to Floyd and his family during his time with you.
