It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Dorothy Lansdell (Rose), beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, on 16 May 2026 at the age of 102, who died peacefully in the compassionate care of the Midtown Care Home, Weyburn, SK.
She was predeceased by her parents, Avery and Dorothy Rose; husband, Harold Lansdell in 1984; daughter, Vicki Bettesworth in 2025 and her husband, Bryon in 2026; older brother, Earl (Helen) Rose; and her younger brother, Donald (Jean) Rose.
Eileen is survived by her son, Stephen “Steve” (Anne) Lansdell of Edmonton, AB; her grandchildren: Tara (Jesse) Douglas and children, Keiran, Benson, of Edmonton, AB; Mark (Monique) Lansdell and son, Linden of Calgary, AB; Chris (Sarah) Bettesworth and children, Josh and Riley of Maple Ridge, BC; Shawn (Natasha) Bettesworth and children, Emily and Bronson of Maple Ridge, BC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Born on her parent’s farm west of Yellow Grass, 20 November 1923 Eileen spent the next 89 years in that community. She loved her hometown and was an active member of the United Church, Legion Auxiliary, and Yellow Grass Homemakers. In 2012 she moved to Bison Manor where she quickly became involved and made some of the best friends of her life. In 2024 she moved to Midtown Care Home.
Eileen loved life and was loved by everyone she ever met. She will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering support, and constant warm smile. Eileen’s greatest joy was her family, who feel blessed to have had her in their lives for 102 years always there with a gentle hand that guided us through life.
No formal services will be held. Interment will take place at the Yellow Grass Cemetery at a later date.
