He attended and completed the vocational agriculture program at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. He farmed prior to University and after he completed Ed bought land and farmed alongside his parents John and Dorothy Howse. Later he farmed solo. He was a grain and cattle farmer, but he truly loved the grain end of it. Farming was in Ed’s blood and it was his true passion. Similar to all farmers of his generation, his profession was not just farming, he was a true jack of all trades.
Ed was hugely involved in the community. He was on, and often the leader, of many groups including Red Coat Road and Rail, the Legion, 4-H, the church, several other community boards.
Ed had the kindest heart and those of us whose lives he touched can consider ourselves extremely fortunate. Ed was a very loving husband and father. He will be forever loved and immensely missed.
