Douglas Ross Hillrud

Douglas Ross Hillrud, late of Ceylon, SK passed away on May 4, 2025 at the age of 84 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Chris and Eva Hillrud; brother, Henry Hillrud; mother and father-in-law, Ted and Irene Leedy; brothers-in-law, Edwin Rowland, Ken Dinwoodie and Brian Sweeney.

Ross is survived by his wife, Gayle of 54 years; daughter, Marla (Darcy McPhee) and children,Douglas, Taylor (Lincoln); son, Marvin (Nicole) and children, Christian (Jordan) [Maeve], Jordan (Tori) [Blaire], Kiera (Zac); daughter, Lisa (Del Fladeland) and children, Dawson, Rylan, Brayden; son, Blake (Dawn) and children, Gracie and Mazey. Ross is also survived by his sisters, Hazel Rowland of Weyburn, SK, Sylvia Dinwoodie of Stony Plain, AB, and Carol Sweeney of Portage la Prairie, MB; brother, Rae (Pat) Hillrud of Innisfail, AB, sister-in-law, Colleen (Byron) Vermeulen of Ceylon, SK; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. from the Ceylon United Church, Ceylon, SK with Judy Beck officiating. A Private Family Interment was held at the Trail Cemetery, Ceylon, SK.  Luncheon followed at the Prairie Pride Centre, Ceylon, SK.
