Clements Weinrauch Obituary

On December 30, 2025, after a life well lived and filled with the gift of music, Clements Joseph Weinrauch left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 94 years.

Clem was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Theresa Weinrauch; wives, Carey (2001) and Shirley (2020); son, Glenn (2018); brothers George (2009), Herb (2016), Henry (2021); brother-in-law Mervin Olson (2016) and sister-in-law Lillian (2023).

Clem is deeply loved and missed by his daughter, Karen and son-in-law, Blaise Holzer of Airdrie, AB; his brother Jonas (Doris) Weinrauch; sister Jean Olson and sisters-in-law Phyllis and Clara Weinrauch as well as many nieces and nephews. He is fondly remembered by Laurel and Scott Lawrence and their families, as well as Shirley’s many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren

Clem was born to Leopold and Theresa Weinrauch on June 8, 1931 on a homestead near Steelman, Saskatchewan. He was the second eldest of six children and attended Rockland School.

From a young age, Clem displayed a love of music which he shared with his brothers Herb and George. With Clem playing the accordion, they formed a band and later expanded it to include Clem’s son Glenn, in the early 1970’s. He shared many fond memories of playing for wedding dances and, then many years later, playing for the anniversary celebrations of the same couples. In his later years, Clem continued to play monthly at senior homes and jam sessions. When he moved to Parkway Lodge in 2021, he entertained the residents with frequent performances. Old-time music was his passion and it was deeply important to him. He loved to share this joy and saw it as a bridge to bring people together.

In 1955, he married Carey Mantei. They settled in Estevan where they raised their two children: Glenn and Karen. Clem completed his barber training in 1961; later he owned and operated Clem’s Barbershop on Fifth Street in Estevan. He eventually relocated the shop to the corner of 4th Street and 12th Avenue where he barbered until he retired at the age of 75 years.

In 2007, he married Shirley Franklin and moved to Weyburn. He was very proud to be known as Grandpa Clem to Shirley’s many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, SK with Pastor Victoria Mwamasika officiating.  Refreshments will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, SK with Interment to follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK.

The family would like to thank the community of care givers and friends at the Parkway Lodge for the care and compassion they showed Clem especially during his final months. He was very happy during his time at the Lodge and considered it home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clem’s memory to the Zion Lutheran Church, 504 Windsor Street, Weyburn, SK S4H 0W9.
