Arie Joseph Matthijs Schimmel, late of Midale, SK passed away on January 30, 2025 at the age of 41 years.
Arie was a loving father to his children, Austin & Attison Schimmel.
Survived by a man’s best friend, Frank; parents, Martin & Rae Schimmel; grandpa Kevin Brady; siblings, Don (Kathi), Pam (Ken), Meredith, Leta (Rob), Jana-Rae; beloved partner, Elizabeth and her children, Nevaeh & Blake; Austin and Atti’s mom, Melissa; brothers in law, Kelly (Steph) and children, Conner & Lola, Drew and family as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends from far and wide.
Arie was predeceased by his grandparents, Oma & Opa Schimmel and Nana Reta Duffy; nephews, Ethan John & Daniel S.J. and Grandma Judy Brady.
A Celebration of Life for Arie was held on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from McKenna Hall, 317 ~ 3rd Street, Weyburn, SK with Carmella Backlun officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were: Ryan Thompson, Kelly McGonigal, Thomas K. Oman, Kelly Brady, Brandon Rosengren, Rob Douma, Ken Werbiski, Lyndon Werbiski, Geoff Charles and Kelly Orsted. Luncheon followed at the McKenna Hall.
A Celebration of Life will also be held in Portage at a later date.
