Aleta Bendickson Obituary

Aleta Emily Bendickson, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on June 20, 2025 at the age of 45 years.

She was predeceased by her mother, Karen Elaine Olson; grandparents, Shirley and Ralph Olson, Ivy and Henry Turner; grandparents, Sam and Lillian Bendickson, Henry and Annetta Locken.

Aleta will be remembered by her father, Larry Turner; husband, Craig Bendickson; children: son, Tanner (Natalie) Bendickson and their children [Blayke and Jett]; son Connor; son Nathan; and her daughter Mya; her sister, Amanda (Deloy) and their children [Thomas and Raina]; brother, Troy (Michaela) and their children [Luke and Camryn]; sister, Tara (Tyler) and their sons [Ryder, Waylon and Jaxen], sister, Tanya (Kurtis) and their children [Blayne, Tatiana, Ameliya and Arlo]; brother, Andre (Christina) and their daughters [Layla and Scarlett]; sister, Shelby (Brice) and their children [Arden and Lillian]; her in-laws, Terry and Judy Bendickson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Aleta was the best of the best, the best mother, the best wife, the best sister, the best auntie, the best friend, but not the best driver. Anyone who experienced this would be laughing hard and smiling ear to ear, cause she always was so skilled/talented at everything she did, but driving.  She made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Aleta gave people her time. She would stop, listen, and make you feel truly heard. Her nonjudgmental nature and welcoming heart made her someone you could always talk to.

Aleta’s sense of humour was one of a kind; she seriously laughed her way through life. That infectious laugh made you laugh even when you didn't know what you were laughing at. She had a way of making heavy moments feel a little lighter with goofy sayings that only she could come up with. She filled a room with warmth and joy with her presents and her beautiful smile.

Dollarama was her paradise. She could spend hours walking up and down the aisles, always finding the coolest things. Always found so much joy picking out items for her mom, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her home, her hobbies, and so much more. Anytime you would ask, “Aleta, where's that from?” There was a 99% chance she would respond with “Dollarama.”

At any campsite, Aleta’s camper was known as “the candy camper.” All the kids, and likely a few adults, knew they were welcome to stop by for a treat. Her kids would be running around with pockets full of sweets, happily sharing them with everyone.

Aleta became an amazing cook and baker, quite the improvement from her teenage years, when she was known to serve her siblings half-cooked rice. Her freezer was always full of baking, and you never left her house without cookies or something she’d just whipped up. Lately, she started experimenting with healthier ingredients, some of the substitutions were a bit questionable, but she’d smile and say, “It’s full of protein!”

Aleta poured her heart into everything she did, including her garden. The time and love she gave created the most beautiful, vibrant space.

Her kids were her whole world. She loved them deeply, exactly as they were, and cherished each of their unique personalities. Aleta extended that same unconditional love and compassion to her entire family, and to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
