With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Margaret Hoff; late of Weyburn, SK, wife, mother, grandma, aunt and friend at the age of 83 years. She passed away peacefully on October 29, 2018.
Marg was predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth Down; her husband Dave; and several family members.
Marg is survived by her children: Terry (Janet) White Rock, BC; Carolyn (Russ) Foothills, AB. granddaughter Meagan, Foothills, AB; brothers: Stan (Carol), Don (Marg); sisters: Jean, Dorothy and Blanche; as well as several in-laws and many nephews and nieces.
Marg was born in Fairlight, SK on January 1, 1935, along with her twin Marian, the third set of twins to the family of 16 of George and Elizabeth Down. While living and working in Fairlight, she met her sweetheart Dave Hoff at the ball diamond. They were married in August 1953 and moved to Weyburn where they lived and raised their family.
Marg always kept herself busy over the years - as a stay-at-home mom, managing various businesses, and working part-time at Eaton's, and as an accounting clerk at the auctions. She was an avid sports competitor with a great love of curling and golfing, which took her to many bonspiels and tournaments over the years with very special friends. She volunteered many years with the Royal Purple - Elks club, and as a coach in various sports. She loved spending time at the lake fishing and enjoying life with family and friends.
There was nothing and no one Marg loved more and held close to her heart than her family.
Marg's family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Tatagwa View Home Care facility for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Marg's life was held at a Come & Go Social Gathering on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. from the Captain's Hall, 122 ~ 4th Street NE, Weyburn, SK.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends so wishing charitable donations in memory of Marg may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, Suite 310, 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.
