Mabel Helen Harriet "Bobby" Winter, late of Weyburn, SK passed away July 1, 2019 at the age of 104 years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Gertrude Murray; her husband, Jack Winter; sister Ethel Ranson; brother Charles Murray; and her daughter Louise Crozier.
Mabel is survived by her sons, Doug (Cindy) Winter and Murray (Betty Lou) Winter; son-in-law, Jim Crozier; 2 grandchildren, Darren (Cindy) Crozier, Paul Crozier; 4 great grandchildren: Dylan, Kyle, Rocky and Payge Crozier; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was born to Thomas and Gertrude (Whitrow) Murray, August 6, 1914, in rural Yellow Grass, SK, the youngest of three children. She married Jack Winter on June 12, 1941. Mabel, affectionately known by all her family and friends as "Bobby" was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was active in the Yellow Grass Church of Christ in many capacities. She was a great cook who shared her skills at places such as Rough Bark Christian Camp. Bobby had a great sense of humor and many have remarked that she was kind to everyone. Bobby lived in her own home and continued to garden and raise beautiful flowers until age 96 when she moved to Liberty Manor in Weyburn, and 3 years ago to Weyburn Special Care Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, SK with Rev. Wayne Knouse officiating. Luncheon will follow at Weyburn Special Care Home. Interment will be held at Yellow Grass Cemetery, Yellow Grass, SK following the luncheon.
