Harold Uytterhagen Obituary

Harold Uytterhagen, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on September 17, 2019 at 76 years of age.

He was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Catherine Uytterhagen; brothers, Odaf and Jake Uytterhagen; nephew, Ricky Uytterhagen and brothers-in-law, Dwayne Bell and Brian Bell.

Harold is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marion, his daughter, Kelly (Brent) Green and their daughters, Alyssa and Avery; sister, Theresa (Tony) Frischholz; brother, Leon (Ethel) Uytterhagen; sisters-in-law, May Uytterhagen and Marian Uytterhagen; in-laws, Alfred and Joyce Bell, Larry and Sharon Bell, Lorne and Ellen Bell, Karen and Jerry Knauss, Mark and Anita Bell; as well as his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Harold Uytterhagen, 76 years of age,of Weyburn, SK, passed away on September 17, 2019.  He was the youngest child born to Catherine (Floer) and Leon Uytterhagen on October 1, 1942 in Ceylon, SK.  He had fond memories of growing up on the family farm near Gladmar, SK.

In 1972, Harold married the love of his life, Marion Bell and they welcomed their daughter Kelly in 1974.  The family lived in Regina and White City before moving to their cottage at Mistusine upon their retirement in 2004.  Harold was a proud steel worker and retired after working for 37 years at IPSCO.

Harold and Marion moved to Weyburn in 2007.  He could often be found taking long walks around Weyburn, having coffee at the Dairy Queen or feeding his birds and squirrels.  Harold was well known for his love of fishing, playing cards, going to the casino, reading, and collecting rocks and artifacts

In 2009, Kelly married Brent Green and Harold and Marion were blessed with two granddaughters, Avery and Alyssa.  Avery was Harold’s pride and joy.  His world revolved around Avery and he treasured any time spent with her.  Harold could often be found cheering her on, rink side, while she played ringette.  He always made time to take walks with his best buddy, Koda. 

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, September 27, 2019  at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, SK with Fr. Francis Plaparampil celebrant. Active Pallbearers were: Randy Uytterhagen, Dean Frischholz, Ron Frischholz, Perry Frischholz, Cody Uytterhagen and Jason Uytterhagen.  Luncheon followed at the McKenna Hall, Weyburn, SK with the interment following at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Minton, SK.

This world lost an amazing man, but Heaven gained a loving angel who will watch over us all.

In lieu of flowers, for family and friends so wishing, charitable donations in memory of  Harold may be made to the Weyburn Hospital Palliative Care Unit, c/o Weyburn General Hospital,  201 ~ 1st Avenue, Weyburn, SK, S4H 0N1.
