Eric William Calibaba, late of Regina, SK passed away on June 1, 2019 at the age of 30 years.

He was predeceased by his Grandpa Bill Calibaba; Grandpa Michael DeVreese; Grandma Madeleine DeVreese; father-in-law Dale Chessall; and his cousins, Evan Barbarin and Preston Calibaba.

Eric is survived by his wife Charissa Calibaba and their daughter Vanna Calibaba; father Tim (Leanne) Calibaba; mother Elaine (nee: DeVreese) (Andy) Henning; siblings: Reagan (Danny) Jewitt and children [Madeline, Leo, Iris, Gus], Lindsay Irwin and children [Lia, Cali, Mila], Adam (Kendal) Calibaba and children [Everleigh, Blakely], Sara Calibaba and fiancé Gabriel Lafrance-Robineau; his Grandma Marlyn Calibaba; his mother-in-law Barbra Chessall; brother-in-law Dylan Chessall; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eric William Calibaba, 30, of Regina, passed away suddenly on June 1, 2019. He was born in Weyburn, SK on Sept. 5, 1988 and was raised in Radville, SK. He graduated from Weyburn Comprehensive School in 2006.

Eric married Charissa Chessall, his high school sweetheart and love of his life, in 2014. They recently welcomed their daughter Vanna to the world on May 12th, 2019. Eric worked for SaskPower and had recently accepted a position working out of Regina to be home as often as he could with Charissa and Vanna.

Eric brought out the best in people. He was one of those cherished, rare people in the world who loved everyone wherever they were. He was a devoted, irreplaceable member of a huge circle of people. What everyone had in common was that each knew Eric genuinely cared for them. That group extended to family and beyond, to numerous hockey teams, his SaskPower guys, Radville, Weyburn and Katepwa Lake to everyone he met.

Eric was a fierce and talented hockey player playing in the SJHL with the Weyburn Red Wings and Senior with the Radville Nationals, Midale Mustangs, Meadow Lake Stampeders and the Milestone Flyers. He was a proud, valued member of SaskPower, starting in 2009 as a Lineman and becoming a Journeyman in 2013.  His time with SaskPower saw him work all over the province building close friendships in Meadow Lake, Carlyle and Regina.

Everyone who knew Eric was better for it. This was part of the gift he bestowed upon us all. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, friend and teammate. He was incredibly excited to be a father. He loved Charissa and Vanna with a full heart and was extremely proud of his girls.
