Donald Henry Murray

Donald Henry Murray, late of Weyburn, SK, formerly from Yellow Grass, SK, passed away on October 27, 2018 at the age of 88 years.

Donald was predeceased by his parents Henry and Mabel Murray.

Donald is survived by his wife Meta; his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren: daughter Connie (Pat) and her children: Kayd (Courtney), Teal (Joey) [Jace, Isla]; daughter Debbie (Garth) and their children: Kurtis (Amy) [Ashton, Kohen, Kip], Dane [Ekko, Oakley], Jody (Jamie) [Cody (Genevieve), Levi, Meaghan, Wyatt, Cole], Stacey (Korey) [Austin, Trey, Cameron, Reis]; son Barry (Carla) and their children: Dustin (Jill) [Taylor, Brett], Evan (Alycia) [Solomon, Fletcher]; his brother Garnet (Donna) Murray and their family Danny and Sharon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Private Family Graveside Service was held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Yellow Grass Cemetery, Yellow Grass, SK with Funeral Celebrant Judy Beck. 

Dad was a very special husband, brother, father and grandpa, who loved each one of us (and our pets) unconditionally.  He worked hard on the farm, at Canada Wire, and around the house fixing everything with just a “hand width measure.”  He especially loved seeing the grandchildren who all fought to sit on his knee in his favorite chair.  He was a teaser and a joker.  He enjoyed his winters in Texas with Mom, especially his happy hours and golf.  Dad was passionate about whatever he started, whether it was solving the Rubik Cube, collecting stamps, doing crosswords, woodworking, or setting up his model train room.

Dad led by example, providing each of us with unlimited support and silent guidance.  In 2012, with failing health, we all returned that love and support.  We rallied around him, Mom and Uncle Garnet sat by his side almost daily, and Dad crawled back by his fingernails to stay with us these last few years. 

Thanks for the bonus time, Dad.  Your work is done now and you can rest.
