I was very sad to hear of Bernie's passing. I recall great memories of Bernie
at baseball watching us and cheering us on. I also remember Bernie and and my Dad coaching us when we played ball at provincials. Bernie's passion and knowledge of the sport was passed onto his children. He was always enjoyed us winning a tournament and would love to help us celebrate our wins. I never saw the man get angry at anyone, he was always nice to all and was always very kind to me. A true gentle soul.

I first met Bernie back in the mid 1970's when I was a Weyburn RedWing playing summer fastball in Weyburn on the same team. He was respectful and kind to me, a quiet leader , a good ball player and teammate, and a man of good morals and ethics . He was a good example of a good sportsman and a real gentleman.
