Jean Marie Freeman, late of Weyburn, SK passed away January 3, 2013, at the age of 74 years. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Mervin Freeman; her parents, Melvin and Hellen Torgunrud; step-father, Ray Steiro; father and mother-in-law, Clarke and Bernice Freeman; sister of six months, Nina; sister, Norma Ness; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Torgunrud, Florence Fryklund and Catherine Freeman; brothers-in-law, Leroy Walkom, Julian Ness, Harold Freeman and Bruce Fryklund; step-sisters, Alfrida Scott and Selma Woods; step-brother, Harold Steiro; two nephews, Jerry Fryklund and Darren Fryklund.
Jean is survived by her son: Ken (Brenda) Freeman and their family, Richard and Joanna, Sharon (Kevin) Stepp and their family, Blair (Brittany) and great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn, great-grandson, Ryder; Adam (Caryn) and Matthew, Janice Klatt and her family, Kayla (Nick) and great-granddaughter, Nikayla and Andrew; brother, Merlin Torgunrud; sister, Janice Walkom; step-sisters, Dagny Marshall, Helen Steiro; step-brothers, Ralph Carl and Raymond Steiro; brother and sister-in-law, Verne (Carol) Freeman along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service for Jean will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn, SK with Rev. John Ferrier, officiating. A gathering for Family and Friends will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Wheatland Senior Centre 888 1st Ave. NE, Weyburn, SK.
For family and friends so wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation, Building Fund, Box 1416, Weyburn, SK S4H 3J9 or the Weyburn Special Care Home, 704 5th Street NE,

My heart goes out to you Ken, Sharon, & Janice along with your families. It doesn't matter how old we are it it still hard to loose our mom. Sorrow looks back, Faith looks up and may peace replace the heartaches.

Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. When I think of Jean, I remember her playing the piano and organ, and admired the way she could play by ear.....truly a special gift.
