Shirley Elaine Olson, late of Weyburn, SK, passed away on January 3, 2016 at the age of 77 years.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents: Sanford and Elsie Bergdahl; sister: Delores Raknerud; grand-daughter: Marci Olson.She is survived by her husband: Terry Tobin, Weyburn, SK; son: Randy Olson, Moose Jaw, SK and his sons: Cory (Denise) Olson and family [Zachary, Thomas], Chad Olson (Sarah) his daughter [Anaka]; daughter: Karen McLean, Weyburn, SK and her family: Aleta (Craig) Bendickson and family [Tanner, Connor, Nathan, Mya], Troy (Michaela) and their son [Luke], Tara (Tyler) and her son [Ryder], Tanya (Kurtis) Melenchuk and family [Blayne, Tatianna, Ameylia], Andre Schepens, Shelby Schepens; sisters: Dorothy, Ruby, Jean, Elizabeth; brother: Larry; father of Shirley’s children, Ralph Olson as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Shirley was held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00am from Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, SK with Reverend Martin Olson officiating.  Active Pallbearers were: Gary Frederick, Cory Olson, Craig Bendickson, Tyler Carter, Andre Schepens, and Brad Murphy. Honorary Pallbearers were "all in attendance".  Lunch followed the service at Zion Lutheran Church with the interment being held at Saron Cemetery, Lake Alma, SK.

GOD SAW YOU GETTING TIRED

God saw you getting tired, A cure was not to be.

He wrapped you in His loving arms

And whispered “Come with Me”.

You suffered much in silence, Your spirit did not bend.

You faced your pain with courage

Until the very end.

You tried so hard to stay with us. Your fight was all in vain.

God took you in His loving arms

And freed you from your pain.

A golden heart stopped beating

Two gentle hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best.
