It’s with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Garth, at the age of 69 years. 

Garth is survived by Carol, wife of 46 years; daughter Tia (Curtis), son Dallas (Jamie); brothers: Les (Brenda) Froh, Khedive, Bruce Froh, Biggar;  sisters-in-law:  Margaret Froh, Khedive, Beverly Lenes, Calgary;  two aunts:  Olga Froh, Regina,  Evie Froh, Regina, as well as many special nieces, nephews,  great nephews, great niece, cousins and friends.

 Garth was predeceased by his parents John and Eloise Froh, brother Robert (Bob) Froh, grandson Matthew Stach, and aunts and uncles.

Garth was born in Regina, and raised in Khedive, SK.  His love for heavy machinery took him to Moose Jaw in 1965, where he completed his Journeyman’s in Heavy Duty Mechanics.  Upon completion he began working for the Dept. of Highways in 1966.  Garth then worked a bit in Custom Combining, Kramer Tractor and for the City of Regina.  In 1970 Garth married his rock, Carol, who stood by his side throughout all his ventures.  Garth’s biggest venture and dream was to own his own machines.  In 1974 he purchased his first motor scraper; laying the groundwork for what would eventually become Froh Construction.

Garth was well known throughout Saskatchewan and the Construction community.  Anywhere he’d go, someone knew him.  In turn, anywhere one of his family members went they were always asked if they knew Garth Froh.  Garth was the king of socializing and storytelling.  If you knew Garth, those stories were definitely a “Garth” story and unlike any other you’d heard.  From him reciting a poem from grade school, to his off the wall jokes, and his nicknames for everyone he’d meet, it was these things that made Garth truly unique. 

Garth had the biggest heart.  Anyone who needed a helping hand, Garth was there for them.  Whatever someone needed, Garth would find the time and a way to help them out – no questions asked.  This was the same with animals, especially cats.  Garth accumulated quite the number of pets throughout the years and for stray animals, they were spoiled rotten. 

Garth’s sense of humor and generous heart will be missed by all.  In his honour, raise a Pilsner, tell a funny story, and help one another out. 

A Service of Remembrance for Garth was held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 1:30pm from McKenna Hall, 317 - 3rd Street, NE, Weyburn, SK.  Lunch followed the Service at McKenna Hall.  A private family interment will be held at Khedive Cemetery.
