Edgar Arthur Kuhn, Sgt. (Ret) RCMP  November 7, 1932 – November 27, 2016

Our beloved Edgar went to his eternal reward at the age of 84 surrounded by his darling wife and children expressing in their sorrow their great love for him, praying, singing hymns and reminiscing in celebration of his life. 

Edgar was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Olga (Kolke) Kuhn, infant daughter (September 28, 1968), sister Enid Hasselback, brother Ferdinand, sister Irene Everson, brothers-in-law Vincent (Ethel) Brunet, Linus (Margaret) Brunet, Ernest (Evelyn) Brunet, and sisters-in-law Eunice (Marcel) Fortier and Elizabeth (Maurice) Thibeault. 

Edgar is survived by his wife, Claire, his five loving and devoted children and eighteen precious grandchildren: Angela (Christian Sylvain), Pascal, Gabriel, Annamarie; Jonathan (Glenda), Nathan, Devin, Alix; Monica (Stuart Thorpe), Simon, Sean, Hillary, Sophie, Evelyn; Eugene (Brenda), Drew, Tara, Bryce; Richard (Andrea), Emma, Lauren, Andrew, Natalie; his sister Margarete (Garry) Conrad, sister-in-law Karen Kuhn, brother-in-law Robert Hasselback and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

Edgar was an honourable and humble man. He was born in Bromhead, Saskatchewan to German parents farming amid the hardships of the Great Depression and World War II. His impoverished childhood and hard work on the farm established his strong character and appreciation of life’s gifts. In 1952 he joined the RCMP. He served with pride and dedication for 26 years, including six years in the Arctic where he met his beloved Claire whom he married in Ottawa in 1960.

Ed was loved and respected by all who knew him including many friends and acquaintances, his neighbors, RCMP members and brother Knights of Columbus.  

Prayers were held at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, Friday, December 2, 2016 at 7:00pm.  Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00 pm.  Interment took place in the afternoon of Sunday, December 4, 2016, at the RCMP Cemetery at Depot Division in Regina.
