Dolores Ogden

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dolores Ann Ogden (nee: Hanson), wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, late of Fillmore, SK on Monday February 1, 2016 at the age of 86.    

Dolores was predeceased by her husband Ken; infant son Thomas Kendol;  parents: Rudy and Lillian Hanson; father and mother-in-law: Roy and Amy Ogden; brother Dale; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mel (Ila), Cliff (Lillian), Gordon (Jean), Glen Foss; nephews: Wes Foss, Darren Hanson; niece: Cleone Phillips (nee: Nurse).

Dolores is survived by her children: Lynn (Dave) Johnstone, Shelly Luchenski, Tracy (Sandra) Ogden, Trevor (Angela) Ogden; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law:Vi Hanson, Maxine Foss, Shirley (Gerald) Nurse; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dolores was born on February 15, 1929.  She attended a country school south of Fillmore then moved with her family to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she graduated from high school. In 1947 she married Ken Ogden. Together they resided on the farm north of Fillmore.  Ken was severely burned June 2, 1948.  Dolores spent 12 days short a year caring for him in Regina  at the Grey Nuns Hospital.  They then returned to the family farm where they continued to farm and raise their family. In 2007 they then moved to Fillmore and in February 2009 Dolores moved to the Fillmore Health Centre where she resided until her passing.  

Dolores had many talents. She loved cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening, bird watching, and making crafts of all sorts.

A Service of Remembrance for Dolores was held on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. from Fillmore United Church, Fillmore, SK  with Lynette Callfas, officiating. Interment was held at Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore SK.

For family and friends so wishing, donations in memory of Dolores may be made to the Fillmore Union Health Centre, Box 246, Fillmore, SK, S0G 1N0 or the Fillmore Ambulance Fund, c/o Box 246, Fillmore, SK, S0G 1N0.
