It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Arthur Widdis of Weyburn on November 19, 2015 one week short of his 93rd birthday.

Chuck enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and crib and going to coffee row with his buddies right up until he suffered a stroke on November 3rd, 2015. He joins his wife Joyce, his grandson Bradley Wimmer & son in law Philip Wimmer.

Chuck was born November 27, 1922 the fifth child of six to James & Bertha Widdis of Lewvan.

He leaves to mourn son Alan & Vonni Widdis and their children Creighton (Angela and girls); Brennon (Naoko). His daughter Charlene Wimmer and her children Stephanie (Brad Restau), Wade (Erica), Jennelle Wimmer & Brittany Stepp. Great Grandchildren Logan, Dominic Restau, Brayden, Jaxon Wimmer, Kaitlyn, Ryder Stepp and Eyvindar Widdis. Plus his sister Grace, nephews & nieces.

Chuck married Joyce Purves on November 30,1951. They lived in Regina then moved to the farm in 1953. In 1979 they semi retired in Indian Head and then in 1992 they moved to Weyburn. In 2012 they moved into Hilltop Manor where they had volunteered for many years.

Chuck was a farmer at heart. He was always asking about the crops on his son in laws & grandson's farms. He had just given his anvil from his grandfather to his grandson Wade. He loved playing cards especially duplicate bridge & crib. He had a generous heart especially when he bought treats for the workers at Hilltop Manor. He always had wafer cookies for the great grandchildren.

Chuck & Joyce took a cruise, did many bus tours, travelled in Canada & USA. They wintered many years in Mesa, Arizona.

We would like to thank the staff at Hilltop Manor for the many acts of kindness to Chuck, Charlene and family.

Cremation has taken place with a Memorial Wake to be held on December 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm. at the Weyburn Wheatland Senior's Centre, Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
